If I were 39 years old, I probably wouldn’t try to fight in the UFC, but I guess Donald Cerrone is just built different. If I hadn’t won a fight since 2019 and was on a 5 fight losing streak, I would probably think about hanging it up, but again Donald Cerrone is built different. If I had a fight get canceled/postponed 2 times in a row I think I would see that as a sign to maybe retire, but you guessed it, Donald Cerrone is built quite a bit differently than me.
On the other hand: Money.
So I get it.
Don’t get me wrong, I like Donald Cerrone. Other people say nice things about him, so as far as I’m concerned he’s probably a good guy. Unfortunately for him and his career, he’s washed, very washed. Like cartoonishly washed. Glass Joe-Esque washed.
This fight is a catchweight at 170, which is good for him, but he’s also coming off 2 separate weight cuts to 155 that were only a couple of weeks apart… and he’s old… so that’s got to suck in a big-time way. It’s something that’ll definitely play a part in the outcome of this fight.
He’s fighting Jim Miller, a guy who’s 38 and arguably washed. His last 2 fights have been wins against guys who’ve been making their UFC debut, but he did knock them out. So take that for what you will.
Lately, Miller’s been a guy who either finishes or loses, and I think that's exactly what’s going to happen here.
I don’t trust Cerrone’s body to hold up to the drastic changes that he’s been going through and I think Jim is going to end this one fairly quickly.
Under 1.5 rounds at +115.
Either that or we’re going to be watching two old guys walking around for 15 minutes.
