Too Early Breakdown: Sloppy

My Xbox 360 got the red ring of death a week before my birthday in 2008. So I did the towel trick where you would purposefully overheat it to melt all the shit on the inside or whatever, but that only worked for like a day or 2. I had to send it back to Microsoft and they said it would take 3 weeks to send it back to me.

My birthday came around and I got Gears of War 2 and Call of Duty: World at War.

2 games that I couldn’t play because I didn’t have an Xbox. I had to wait 2 more weeks after my birthday in order to actually play the games that I got for my birthday.

I persevered.

I persevered through that extreme adversity and it made me a stronger person in the long run.

The best part of week 2 of the NFL season is that we only have to wait 3 days between games, and I can handle that.

Chargers @ Chiefs (Chiefs -4.5, O/U 54)

I get sloppy pants when I think about this game. This is one of the first games in the most competitive division in all of professional sports. My pants are justifiably sloppy.

We saw the Chiefs absolutely dominate the Cardinals last week, but I think that was more of a statement on the Cardinals. I think that statement was, “Hey Cardinals, instead of having Kyler call plays in the preseason, maybe have him play in the preseason” because they didn’t look remotely close to being ready for the season. We know that game said more about the Cardinals because the Chiefs ran the ball well, and the Chiefs do not run the ball well.

I’ve been a critic of the Chargers and will always be a critic of them until they prove that they aren’t a “frequently lose close games” team for at least 2 seasons. Just like in week 18 of last year, they Chargersed away the game against the Raiders to not make it into the Playoffs, and expect they’ll lose a close one here too.

I’m not so sure that losing Keenan Allen is going to matter too much here. That’s because Herbert is going to launch the ball to whoever is there. He doesn’t really care who the guy is. We saw that last week when he hit 9 different guys.

The reasons I think it’s going to be a close game are:

1. It’s the Chargers

2. No Harrison Butker

3. It’s the Chargers

4. It’s a short week

5. It’s the goddamned Chargers
